Record month for Hospitalfield

<< Previous | Next >>

Hospitalfield enjoyed a record month in June with the highest volume of business ever experienced. Over the 30 days, the Angus centre of art and culture recorded 509 overnight stays including two study groups from the USA, a residential writing workshop and accommodation for the Dundee Literary Festival’s line up of celebrity authors as well as several artists in residence. An additional 434 visitors took part in a wide range of non-residential events during that time. These included the Edinburgh Angus Society Annual Prize Giving; a Friends of Hospitalfield Wine Tasting Supper; a lunch tour from the Edinburgh-based Scottish Arts Club; a National Trust for Scotland concert; dinner for North East Enterprise; a jazz concert and a number of private celebrations.

Paying tribute to the hard work of Director Willie Payne and his staff who rose to the challenge of managing the range of  - often overlapping – events, trust chair Kenneth Cargill said: “Hospitalfield is an inspirational place and at a time when economic stories are generally rather gloomy, it’s wonderful to report  great business for Hospitalfield, for Arbroath and for Angus. We are excited about the future here.”
