Welcome To Hospitalfield

An inspiration to artists and lovers of the arts

Dedicated to the arts, Hospitalfield has cast a spell on artists, musicians and writers for over 100 years. Individual international residencies and groups relish its character, quiet ambience, tranquil country gardens and particularly generous studio space. Hospitalfield’s unique independence – some may even say charming eccentricity – gives it a distinctive niche in the art world where it has inspired a range of prominent Scottish painters including Joan Eardley, Peter Howson and Will McLean.

A unique venue

Picture of Hospitalfield HouseIntriguing architecture, rich history and family lore make Hospitalfield a unique venue available on an exclusive basis for weddings, dinners, conferences, concerts and cultural events. A splendid and spacious gallery, handsome panelled dining and drawing rooms all furnished with original art from Hospitalfield’s collection, lend a graceful ambience to special occasions. The Space, best known for its lively jazz nights, makes an excellent venue for ceilidhs, concerts and less formal events.

“The privilege of staying in this gothic edifice with its plethora of treasures and great studios was the most formative and exciting period in my development as an artist...”
